We are in paradise! Blue waters, blue skies and great temperatures, not the Bahamas but Rocky Mountain Paradise! Our journey through Saskatchewan and Alberta was fantastic and even stayed in Medicine Hat, Alberta.... which is my Dad's home town.
Today we tested our hiking boots big time and visited so many sights I have to post this blog tonight so I don't forget which photo is which. We drove to Lake Louise, I believe on everyone's bucket list when visiting Banff. It is a gem.
At Lake Louise is a Fairmont Lake Louise Springs. We decided to do the 1.5 km hike up to a tourist point on a trail. I actually found a 25% incline hard after 1 km. I was exhausted by the time we arrived! However, the oxygen is less at this altitude, this is my excuse.
Paul on the trail ahead of me, it is deceiving but there is quite an incline! Thank goodness for the hiking boots, especially on the way down.
We met three young people from Ontario that took our photo with Lake Louise Springs Fairmont in the background. Beautiful shot high above where we were a short time ago...... way down there.
British Columbia border is so close and Yoho National Park is nearby so we headed to Takakkaw Falls. The drive was interesting for a short time with switchback roads. I could not look down!
Yes, look at the Falls but those hiking boots? Cool right?
The waters are so so blue, which a photo does not capture and fast moving waters. These waters have made an opening over time through the rocks to rush through downward. A beautiful spot.
Chateau Lake Lousie from the back, so beautiful!
How far are we going?...... We are going west to Vancouver Island! Then we go north on the island. Beautiful places to see and people to visit.
