BANFF TO JASPER VIEWS

We have had such a beautiful time with spectacular sights that I need to post these pictures for our future reference before I forget what is where and which "falls" are which. We have been so lucky with sunny days, blue skies and best views.

Right in Banff or within a ten minute drive are wonders to be had. Lake Minnewakka and Two Jack Lakes are so wonderful. We visited these lakes after a switch back drive up the Norquay Road to the top.

When in Banff a must see is the Bow Falls. Next time we will do the large raft trip from here to Canmore. They pick you and the raft up once you arrive down there. We needed more time!

On our way to Jasper I wanted to see Morant's Curve, this is famous for the trains coming and going through a mountain tunnel. This train is travelling at a crossing about 20 minutes before we get to the curve so chances are we won't see a train coming and going. However, on our way to the Curve, the train is at a stop. We get to Morant's Curve and wait but who knows the train schedules. We went back to the car to fix something on our navigation screen (stopped working, just blank). I was checking my photos of the Curve with no trains in the shot etc.... then I hear the distinct sounds of the train whistles....... I am very excited as the train is actually coming through the curve. I ran to take some video and pictures. Lucky day indeed.

BEFORE THE TRAIN

TRAIN ON THE TRACKS

Lake Moraine is the most spectacular lake I have ever seen. We tried for a second time to visit. This lake road has a turn off right before Lake Louise but this lake has a parking shortage so there are road blocks and a huge sign that says parking lot full. Don't believe the sign, this second time we actually stopped and asked the attendant when is a good time to come (for next time as we are travelling to Jasper now). She told us right now is a good time, follow the road and have a good day. What!? She says every 5-10 minutes they allow more people to travel up the road, don't pay attention to the sign. If the orange pylons are moved away just go ahead.

These photos are not "touched up". So blue! Amazing.

We are enjoying the mountains and scenery here in Jasper. Their main street has these poles up and down with photos of these young people. Jasper is so special that each photograph on these flags are the high school grads. Amazing!

We see license plates from all provinces! Plus we are meeting people from everywhere with rental cars from Alberta. Canadians are spending time and money here in Canada.
